Dates and Deadlines for S1 2008
Internal exam papers should be submitted to School Office 2-3 days before the exam date. EXAMINATION ADMINISTRATION: Schools should not timetable exams in stuvac, nor should course convenors or schools timetable their own exams in the official exam period. This is becoming an increasing problem, and can result in clashes and unsatisfactory exam timetables for students. Requests to hold exams in the official exam period must come to the exams section, by entering the details of exams to be timetabled on MyUNSW by 28 March 2008. SPECIAL TIMETABLING REQUESTS: The examination timetable is constructed against a background of conflicting priorities. Decisions must be made that balance the needs of students with those of examiners. Any increase in the number of special timetabling requests causes a corresponding increase in individual student examination clashes and proximities. Additionally, we are limited by the number of examination venues available, especially early in the examination period. Therefore, while we will endeavour to accommodate requests in special circumstances, this is not always possible. Any such requests should be made separately in writing to the Examinations Section by 28 March 2008, with the reasons for the request outlined. Specialtimetabling requests can rarely be accommodated once the Provisional Timetable has been published. LATE ADDITION OF EXAMS: Any request to add an examination AFTER data has been downloaded from MyUNSW for construction of the timetable creates considerable additional work for the timetabler. Please ensure this does not occur. Where doubt occurs because you have been unable to contact the course convenor by the deadline, please include the exam details for the course. It is much easier to delete an exam than to add it later.
