DC servo drive, PM brushless DC and Synchronous motor drives, vector controlled 2 and 3 phase induction motor drives, wide speed range, field weakening PM and induction motor drives, Drive design for high dynamic response.
Power Electronic Circuits for Electrical Drives
Power electronic circuit topologies for application in drives and active filtering, performance analysis and characteristics, circuit modelling, design, modulation strategies, protection, power factor and efficiency issues.
Servo Motors and Servo Systems
Stepping motors, permanent magnet motors, brushless dc drives, induction motors, and drive techniques.
Motion Control Systems Design
Drive system modelling, drive data acquisition and signal processing for speed and other observers, motion control strategies, controller design.
Power factor correction techniques/Active filtering
 
Rectifier designs for high input power factor and low harmonic distortion, circuit design and control, dynamic and steady-state performance, system design
